Human mind:   Is designed for 2 basic things 1)to keep the human survive 2)to make human life better Human emotions acts as message to mind. If you are happy, laughing, overwhelmed it makes sure that you are having good life and lot of possibility to survive with no problem and this let's mind to focus on other things than surviving which makes our performance in anything better and results in better output. And emotions like sad, fear etc makes mind worried about the survival and it goes into safe mode in which it doesn't give effective work or interest on anything and makes sure the human is being in safe zone. Till the mind makes sure the survival is possible and human is very safe nothing can drag his/her interest for any work of effort. And only positive emotion or source of positive emotion can attract them.
